David Grossman, Israel

DAVID GROSSMAN 2723 1An Israeli author and playwright whose books have been translated into many languages and published around the world.  He has won numerous prestigious awards for his works including the 1984 Prime Minister's Prize for Creative Work, the 2001 Sapir Prize for his novel "Someone to Run With", the 2007 EMET Prize, the 2010 Albatros Prize for his novel "To the End of the Land" and the 2017 Man Booker International Prize for his novel "A Horse Walks into a Bar".   In all his novels Grossman uses modern literary tools such as stream of consciousness, various story perspectives and the combination of imagination and reality, especially in Children's books.  

Prof. Steven Haberman, United Kingdom

stiv havermanOne of the most respected and fruitful researchers in the field of Actuarial Science, considered one of the world's leading experts on models of mortality, pensions, health and the actuary of longevity.  Some of his published works have become classics in his field.  He is a fine example of a scientist and researcher whose public activities are aimed at improving the quality of life for all of us.

Prof. Irun Cohen, Israel

yaron cohenA Professor of Immunology and one of Israel's leading immunologists.  He has received widespread international recognition for his research on autoimmunity, which has made great strides in understanding the human immune system.  His research has brought forth the creation of advanced diagnosis tools, especially for autoimmune diseases.

Prof. Nili Cohen, Israel

niliPresident of the Israel Academy of Sciences and Humanities and an Israel Prize Laureate.  She is a Professor Emerita of the Faculty of Law at Tel Aviv University and was its Rector between the years 1997-2001.  Her research focuses on Contracts, Comparative Law, Restitution, Torts, Law & Literature.  She has published extensively both in Israel and abroad and her work is frequently cited in the courts.  

Tzili Charney, Israel/ USA

tsilliA curator, producer, a highly respected costume designer for Habima Theatre in Israel, The Cameri Theater of Tel Aviv, and the Jewish Repertory Theater and the National Yiddish Theatre Folksbiene in New York. She is an activist, and a philanthropist with a passion towards justice and peace. Together with her late husband Leon, she is one of the most prominent supporters of the University of Haifa, especifically the Leon H. Charney School of Marine Sciences.

Prof. Lee Shulman, USA

Shulman Profile 200x275An education psychologist, Professor Emeritus of the Stanford Graduate School of Education and past president of the Carnegie Foundation for the Advancement of Teaching and the American Education Research Association.  He is a member of the National Academy of Education and served as its Vice President and President.
